This collection consists mostly of letters from the children to their parents and to each other. The letters concern family matters, particularly finances, and contain information about marriages, births, deaths, and occupations. Several letters concern the division of Simon's estate after his death. Also included ae miscellaneous letters from acquaintances of the family, land deeds, and a few other miscellaneous legal papers. At the end of this collection is included a genealogical chart, compiled by J. C. L. Clark (1871-1936), and two Clark letters, dated 1927, concerning the Houghton family.
